Our oil sands business recovers bitumen through surface mining and steam injection technologies and upgrades it into refinery-ready crude oil products.
Before the actual recovery of the oil sands takes place, the land must be cleared. There are 2 tecniques to recover the Canadian oil sands ore. This is because the ore of oil sands is located 50 to 200 m from the surface and so each technique is dependant on the depth (19).
